RESEARCH INTERESTS

My scientific interests focus on the role of reactive oxygen species (ROS) in plant responses to various abiotic stress factors. Research area concerns the characterization of the antioxidant system and ecophysiological aspects of metabolism in Arabidopsis thaliana and Populus sp. Another field of my interests is the phylogeny of the antioxidant system, photosynthesis and aerobic metabolism in different groups of organisms and their hypothetical role at the early stages of life evolution on the Earth.

PRACTICAL SKILLS

       electrophoretic techniques concerning electrophoresis of proteins and nucleic acids;

       spectrophotometric determination of enzymes activities, determination of photosystem II (PSII) activity,

       Northern blot hybridization, selected bioinformatic tools
